Deaths.
Exclusive of those deaths which occurred in Public
Institutions situated within the district, but belonging to other
districts, the deaths registered numbered 96. In this number
are included those deaths which were transferred by the
Registrar-General of persons who had died outside, but who
belonged to this district. The number of these deaths was
18. These deaths chiefly occurred at the Workhouse,
Workhouse Infirmary, and General Hospital at Croydon; the
County Asylums at Brookwood and Netherne; the Cottage
Hospital at Carshalton; and the Wandle Valley Joint Isolation
Hospital Board's Hospital at Beddington Corner.
The mortality corresponds to a death rate of 7.1 per
thousand of population.
Infantile Mortality Rate.
The number of infants under the age of one year who died
was 12, giving an infantile mortality rate of 51.
