About this work

Description

Dr Bedford Pierce was Retreat Medical Superintendent 1892-1922. The photographs show his daughter, Dr Marjorie Garrod, opening the Memorial Walk; there are also photographs of the commemorative plaque on the garden wall, photographs of Arnold Rowntree, Chairman of the Retreat Committee, and Arthur Rowntree, the former Headmaster of Bootham School, giving speeches, and photographs of the assembled crowd in the garden.
