Description

There are bundles for 1845, 1846, 1847, 1849, 1850, 1851, 1852, 1853, 1854, 1855, 1856, 1857, 1858, 1859, 1860, 1861, 1862, 1863, 1864, 1865, 1866, 1867, 1868 and a few items for 1870, 1874, 1875, 1876, 1877, 1878, 1879, 1880, 1881, 1882, 1883, 1884, 1924 - 1926 The bundles for 1845 - 1868 contain circulars and letters to the Retreat on specific patients, with a few general circulars, and instructions on statistics and returns The early bundles have some information on record keeping under the 1845 Acts The 1858 bundle also contains, on printed forms, the ages of death of all patients who died during the 5 year period ending 31 December 1858, with the ages of all patients on the books 1 January 1854 and 31 December 1858 and the age on admission of all those admitted in the 5 years ending December 1858 The 1859 bundle also contains, on a printed form, an extract from the admission register for 1857 with the initials of patients, occupation, form of mental disorder and cause and date of discharge, removal or death The 1924-6 bundle comprises forms showing causes of death in certified patients who died during the years 1924, 1925, 1926 The following bundles contain, on printed forms, returns of annual numbers of patients, admissions, discharges and deaths: 1858, 1859, 1860, 1861, 1862, 1863, 1864, 1865, 1866, 1874, 1876, 1877, 1878, 1880, 1881, 1883 The following bundles contain, on printed forms, annual extracts from the register of admissions showing names, occupations, ages and causes of insanity of male and female admissions: 1876, 1879, 1880, 1881, 1882, 1884
