About this work

Description

Includes correspondence on alterations to windows, gardens, front entrance, Gentlemen's Lodge, wiring at Medical Superintendent's House, and proposed Night Nurses Home and proposed fireproof room in 3rd Gallery basement (the latter with plan, 1916). Much of the correspondence is from Walter Brierley, the architect mostly used by the Retreat at this period. Also included is a list of wages paid in connection with the Superintendent's House and new Recreation Room 1908. There are no papers in the file for the years 1917-18 or 1920-22.
