'With a view to shew the probability of air being the first cause of motion in animal life, to point out the mechanical causes that concur in producing the circulation of the blood, and to explain the laws of respiration. These inquiries are supported by experiments, and founded on the principles delivered in a course of philosophical lectures, in the beginning of the year 1778.
