The fifteen letters by Smith were originally published earlier under title: Letters to married women, on nursing and management of children
"Letters to a lady" (p. [229-290]) signed on p. 289: John Vaughan. September 10th, 1802. These five letters came "to the hands of the publisher since the preceding part of the Monitor was printed off, and a few copies circulated."
