The following description was provided by James Gardiner: "The idea that alcohol could make people strong is a theme perpetuated from the 1900s (as seen here, where a strongman has a shot of Byrhh before or maybe after lifting a heavy barbell), right up to the 1950-1960s, when 'Guinness is good for you' was a long running and popular campaign employing similar imagery."
