Correspondence regarding the organisation of the 2nd International Congress of Pure and Applied Science, which was planned to take place at Columbia University in September 1940. The Congress was called off in July 1940 due to the Second World War.

Includes correspondence between Haldane and L W Tomarkin, Secretary General of the Congress and Harold C Urey, President of the Congress. Also includes suggested topics to be covered at the conference.
