About this work

Description

Medawar contacted Pontecorvo to let him know that he was recommending Pontecorvo to the Medical Researh Council as the most suitable candidate for the Head of the new Division of Genetics and Developmental Biology position. At the same time Pontecorvo was in talks with Albert Einstein College of Medicine about taking up a position there in the new Ullman Research building. Pontecorvo turned down the National Institute of Medical Research offer, although his reasons are not clear the correspondence.

Some of the letters have been annotated by Pontecorvo.
