Description

Summa magnorum naturalium: Tractatus primus. Written in a semi-current gothic hand in double column of 48 lines to a column, by the same scribe throughout. Ornamental capitals and paragraph marks in red. Fol. 1v (red) Assit ad inceptum sancta maria meum. /// [P]resentem librum qui summa magnorum / naturalium intitulatur in quinque tractatus / distinguimus secundum quinque magnos / libros naturales Aristotelis ... 148 In hoc terminatur 91m capitulum et vltimum primi tractatus / huius summe ad honorem dei gloriosi. / (red) Explicit primus tractatus huius summe per manus / hainrici Frihtoris [?] reportata et per / magistrum hermanum grabnerum in Nurnberga / compilata anno domini 1366° in Sabbato / domine Esto michi. At the top of the recto of fol. 1, which is otherwise blank, are these two inscriptions: Col. 1 Hermann Gra[bner] sancti Ieronymi [?] prior scripsit / primos quaternos summe magnorum naturalium. Col. 2 Istum librum sibi comparauit frater Martinus de graudentz / Im gorlicz pro xx grossis bohemicis in die sancti Jacobi / anno domini Mºccccviiiº. No record has been traced of this Commentary on Aristoteles' 'Physica', nor of its Author. Produced in Nuremberg.
