Description

Irish cookery book, mid 18th century.

Indexed (ff.1-12). The volume has been paginated, but the numbers do not run consecutively.

The binding is not original, the pages have been badly trimmed (cutting off some of the original page numbers). Ff.1-136v. are in the same hand, whilst ff.137-150 are in several hands. Ff.147 and 150 are not on the same paper as the rest of the volume.

The volume comprises almost entirley cookery recipes. Pasted onto the inside of the front board is a medical recipe for 'chalick in the stomach'.
