Description

De mirabilibus mundi. Written in a neat-semi-current humanistic hand, 28-30 lines to a page. Initial C in blue and red with marginal decoration in red on fol. 1. Fol. 1 (red, very faded) IVLII SOLINI COLLECTANEORVM/LIBER DE MIRABILIBVS MVNDI/AD ADVENUVM FOELICITER INCIPIT.//CVM et aurium clementia et optimarum artium/studiis... 75v ...non pe/nitus ad nuncupationem sui congruere/insularum qualitatem.///IVLII SOLINI COLLECTANEO/RVM LIBER DE MARABILIBVS/MVNDI FOELICITER EXPLI/CIT. A vellum fly-leaf-a fragment of a schedule of accounts, is dated 1448.

1 volume 75 ll. + 23 bl. ll. 4to. 21 1/2 x 14 cm . Original vellum binding: both leather ties wanting. Water-stained throughout.

Biographical note

The work was first printed at Venice in 1473. Inscribed in the upper margin of the first leaf of text 'Colleg[ii] Agen[sis] Socie[tatis] Jesu Cat[alogo] Inscrip[tus]'.
