Notes

The first work by the unidentified 'Jacopo' bears some resemblance to the 'Theasurus pauperum' of Petrus Hispanus. This MS. was almost certainly originally bound with two other treatises under that title, MS. No. 377 [Jacopo Florentino] and MS. 490 [Meligariis]. The former is written by the same hand, and is concerned with surgical remedies. Jacopo appears to have been a practising physician, as in several places he states 'Questo provai io'. As regards Bandini, it is just possible in view of the date of this MS.-1419-that he may be the 'Bartolo Bandino' listed by Mazzuchelli in 'Scrittori italiani', Vol. II, 1, p. 224, as a doctor born in Siena, c. 1383, who died in 1469.
