Description

Collection of medical receipts in Latin by several late 15th and early 16th cent. hands. At the end, a catalogue of statues, inscribed stones, etc. in various parts of Italy, said to indicate the location of buried treasure. On fol. 52v and fol. 53 are receipts 'contra morbum gallicum' in a hand of about 1500. The catalogue of statues, etc. occupies ff. 74-81. On fol. 73 is a note in Italian, dated 1523, recording the birth of a daughter to Saxo di Feletana [?]. It is in a hand considerably later than that of most of the other entries.

Physical description

1 volume 107 [108] ll. 8vo. 15 x 11 cm. Vellum covers from part of a leaf of a 14th cent. Service book. Stained throughout: there are many blank leaves. A leaf has been torn out between fol. 57 and fol. 58.

The papers are available subject to the usual conditions of access to Archives and Manuscripts material, after the completion of a Reader's Undertaking.
