Description

La grande mareschalerie du Sieur de Lespinay gentilhomme périgordin. After the end of the text on p.225, and after the Index are some receipts for the maladies of horses of another contemporary hand.

1 volume 3 ll. (first 2 bl.). + 225 pp. + 22 ll. (last 2 bl.). 4to. 26 x 18 1/2cm. Original calf binding. Text within red rules: written in a very near italic hand.

Acquisition note

Purchased 1930.

Biographical note

The work was first printed in Paris in 1642, but it seems to have circulated in MS. before then. Wellcome MS. No. 415 is another copy, provisionally dated c. 1630.

Ownership note
