Cookery-books: 18th cent.

Collection of cookery receipts, with a few medical receipts. The medical receipts are contained in the 18 ll. at the end: inserted are 53 miscellaneous receipts on loose scraps, by various hands, and mostly of later date. Among the medical receipts is one dated 1777. A pencil note inside the upper cover states that this volume came from Sir Walter Besant's [1836-1901] Library, which was sold at Sotheby's in March, 1902.
