About this work

Description

Collection of medical receipts in French: mainly taken from the books of receipts and secrets of Madame Fouquet, Nicolas Lemery, and others. Most of the receipts bear the name of the author, and the majority are taken from the works of Madame Fouquet, Nicolas Lemery [1645-1715], Bathasar de Monconys [1611-1665], Louise Bourgeoise (dite Boursier) [1563?-1636], Pietro Andrea Mattioli [1500-1577], Simon Lescot [ -1690], and the anonymous 'Bastiment de receptes' of which an edition of 1541 is in the B.M. Library. The date 1696 occurs on fol. 479.

1 volume 523 ll. folio. 27 × 18 cm. Modern boards. Beginning and end wanting, first and last two leaves damaged and repaired, margins frayed, partly water-stained.
