About this work

Description

A few Receipts on Farriery &c. Miscellaneous notebook consisting mainly of veterinary recipes, in different anonymous hands and with numerous blank pages. Recipes include some copied from The complete farrier, and British sportsman... (1817) by Richard Lawrence (fl. 1792-1818) and from the Chemist and Druggist. At the back are some culinary recipes, including raspberry vinegar and treacle beer. The first compiler appears to have been a Quaker: p.1 is dated "5mo[nth] 1860". 44pp., card covers.
