About this work

Description

Correspondence with Sir Peter Medawar.

In addition to correspondence concerning a proposed visit by Medawar to the Salk Institute to give a seminar, and Crick's disinclination to undertake a short account of Jacque Monod for the Fontana Modern Masters series, the file contains material relating to a review article by Medawar, entitled "Unnatural science," which appeared in The New York Review of Books (3 February, 1977), in which Medawar discusses the IQ/intelligence controversy. The material includes a three-page letter from Crick to Medawar in which Crick outlines his differing position on the subject.

Also included is Medawar, "A geometric model of reduction and emergence" (photocopy).
