About this work

Description

Cover is a mirror image of the lithograph by Concanen & Lee used on the 3rd edition of this song sheet (issued by H. D'Alcorn and T. Prowse). It shows a portrait of J.H. Stead, a muscial clown whose speciality was to bounce up and down in red and white striped pyjamas and a pointed hat while singing a song. The shadow below him indicates he is several inches off the ground. Printing by Stannard & Dixon.
