By exerting pressure on normal brain tissue these at first cause headache, fever, lethargy and confusion, progressing to fits, vision distortions, strokes (a weakness on one side of the body), changes in thinking and personality and difficulty speaking. Without treatment, as the abscesses grow bigger they can cause coma and eventually death."
