Description

Poster advertising the appearance of Giant Constantin at the London Pavilion in Piccadilly, probably in February 1899. The image shows the giant in an evening suit standing next to a soldier who comes up to the base of his ribcage. He was born Julius Koch in Reutlingen, Germany in 1872 and grew to just over eight feet tall. He died in Mons, Belgium on March 30, 1902, starring earlier that year in a short film: The Giant Constantin. His skeleton is kept in Mons at the Museum of Natural History.
