Poster advertising the publication of James Beaney's textbook of surgery which was published in Melbourne in 1861 by Wilson and Mackinnon (78 Collins Street East). Printed in red and blue from wooden block type. This copy of the poster has been annotated, possibly by Beaney: "Posted all over town and country"... "Will the college tolerate this?" (being mentioned on the poster).
